Tom Gates has fractured his ankle and is totally fed up. Until he thinks back to some fun times he's had with his friends, grandparents and at school, and starts to imagine all the fun things he'll be able to do when the cast comes off: adventures with Rooster the dog, going metal-detecting with Uncle Kevin and making up a secret language with Norman.
