Ella is feeling painfully alone. Her best friend has gone off with someone else. Her step-dad is tired and grumpy. The new baby screams his head off. And worst of all, her mum is in a coma in hospital, unable to touch or talk to anyone. A new school project seems a real bore, but the more Ella discovers about whales, the more she becomes enchanted by them. Whales can sing for hours, calling out their love to each other underwater. Could whale song reach Mum in her other-wise silent world?
