In September 1939 Britain and France declared war on Germany. Soon many other countries became invilved in a war that affected people all over the world. This book tells the story of this terrible war, in newspaper style and year by year, with front page features about the key events and news-in-brief reports about daily life. The story starts in 1933 when the Nazi Party, led by Adolf Hitler, came to power in Germany, and ends in 1946 when Nazi Leaders were put on trial and hanged for their war crimes. Dramatic pictures, eye-witness accounts, mini birgraphies of key people of the 1930's and 40s, a glossary and index all support the main text.
