Notes
The ANZACs, the Australia New Zealand Army Corps, fought their first battles on the Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey, in World War I. The campaign lasted from 25 April until 20 December 1915. More than 26,000Anzacs were killed or wounded, and in the end they retreated. Although the campaign failed, the Anzac's bravery and spirit at Gallipoli earned them a reputation that we continue to honour to this day.
